As their stationery designer, I had the absolute joy of helping bring their old-Hollywood-meets-modern-romance vision to life, one luxe paper detail at a time.
From East Village Dive Bars to West Coast Vows
Cesie and Avery first met on Bumble while living in Manhattan back in 2019. Their first date? A classic New York love story at a dive bar in the East Village called the Holiday Cocktail Lounge. Fast forward a few years and coasts later, and these two found themselves planning a wedding that would capture all the moody, glamorous, and seductive magic of Los Angeles.
Why a Paramour Estate Wedding?
The choice of venue was a no-brainer. The Paramour Estate is the epitome of old-Hollywood grandeur — dramatic architecture, lush hillside views, and that irresistible air of mystery and elegance. Cesie and Avery leaned all the way in, building a wedding day that honored the bold, magnetic energy of LA, but with a softness and depth all their own.
The Vibe: Seductive, Moody, and Unapologetically Glam
From the moment guests arrived, this wedding was all atmosphere. The color palette was rich and layered: cabernet reds, soft pinks, velvety blacks, lush greens, and splashes of navy and yellow that added unexpected energy. Picture a 1940s film noir with a modern twist — romantic, artistic, and just the right amount of edge.
Bespoke Stationery with a View
One of my favorite details to design was the custom envelopes we sent to guests. Each one featured a line illustration of the Hollywood skyline, complete with the iconic Hollywood sign, setting the tone before the envelope was even opened. It was a subtle nod to the city that shaped their love story — and a perfect preview of the moody, glamorous celebration to come.
Personal Touches that Told Their Story
What made this Paramour Estate wedding so special wasn’t just the visuals (though they were stunning). It was how personal everything felt. From nods to their East Coast beginnings to their shared love of pop culture (Cesie is a co-host of The Bravo Docket podcast, after all!), every element was curated to reflect who they are together.
As a stationer, I live for this kind of celebration — one where every detail has a story, and nothing is done just for the sake of tradition. Cesie and Avery trusted me to help translate their mood board into something tangible, textural, and totally bespoke. And the result?
